I am a candidate for IATEFL’s forthcoming election of a new Trustee and ElCom Chair, following in the shoes of Gavin Dudeney, who has been very successful in building the online profile of IATEFL. Simon Greenall has kindly nominated me, and Paul Sweeney has seconded my nomination, it’s the first time I have done this sort of thing, and I am finding the process both exhilarating and a bit scary.    The Electronic Committee  looks after the IATEFL Websites including supporting the Special Interest Group websites, Online Conference with the British Council, Social Media presence, video conferencing, electronic publications and the conference mobile apps.  The Trustee part of the role is also very important to IATEFL, as the trustees are legally responsible for its finances, trading company,  its staff, and the delivery of its charitable objectives.   I’ll be available to respond to questions on the IATEFL Facebook group about what I would do if I were elected.

I attach here a Candidate statement for IATEFL Trustee and Chair ElCom of my candidate statement and resumé which has been circulated to all members, and you can find out more about me on this website. See also http://www.iatefl.org/news/chair-of-elcom

So, if you are an IATEFL member, please vote and please vote for me.  If you are involved in ELT and not a member of IATEFL, then please join now (and then vote for me!)
